About Maple Leaves!
Maple Leaves is Anna Miles, Graeme Thomson, Ross Kelly and Fraser Macpherson.
Maple Leaves comprise the unlikely melding of a radio presenter, a historian, a computer whizz and a guitar teacher from the west of Scotland and north east England. Conscientious by day, by night they also like to play hard: crafting and performing beautiful, folk-tinged indie pop songs.

Exciting news! We’ll be launching our new EP, Robots, at Stereo in Glasgow on Saturday 26th May. What’s more, we’ll give you it absolutely FREE with entry to the gig! A 4-track CD with hand-designed sleeve. We think you’ll like it. There’s trumpet on there and everything.
Support at the gig comes from the excellent Reverieme and Warren McIntyre and The Starry Skies. Hope you can join us! Grab a ticket here: http://t-s.co/maple
Look out for our new video for first single, Robots, very soon…
Slow Club support
2nd April 2012
We’re excited to have another great support slot, following the fun times playing with Allo Darlin last month. This time we’re supporting Slow Club at King Tut’s, Glasgow, on Wednesday 4th April.
If you read this in time, send us an email and we’ll sort you out with a reduced price ticket!
Here’s what Pitchfork said about Slow Club’s pretty brilliant last album:
Circus skills & singles
9th November 2011
We spent an amazing week holed up in a studio by Loch Fyne. We’ve emerged with shiny new singles to be released this winter…but no better at juggling fruit, as this little video attests.
Guitarist wanted!
7th October 2011
We’re looking for a guitarist to join the band. Ideally, said person will also be able to chip in with some nice backing vocals. If they can play any other instruments too, well we’ll simply collapse with enthusiasm!
An exciting opportunity I’m sure you’ll agree. So if you or someone you know fits the bill, likes our music and is a committed sort then please give us a shout at mapleleavesmusic@googlemail.com.
Thanks!
Book festival! New music!
13th September 2011
Given the apocalyptic weather, it looks like the summer’s over. Boo. We’re pretending otherwise though with a wee gig at the Wigtown Book Festival. How very cultured of us. If you happen to be there (and you should because lots of good writers and the like are) we’re providing the tunes at ‘A Night in the Gutter’ on September 30th. (http://www.wigtownbookfestival.com/book-festival-scotland-event.asp?wbf=1722&festivalday=2011-09-30)
We’ve been told to expect a more reserved audience than normal so we’re reining in the extended drum solos. In fact, we’re going to test drive a couple of NEW SONGS! We have a whole bunch in the pipeline which will arrive in your ears very shortly. More on that later… Think you’ll like them though. We’ll have them polished off in time for some more gigs before the year’s out.
We’ll keep you posted! xx
Wickerman Festival
5th July 2011
So, turns out we are playing the Saturday 23rd July at Wickerman Festival on the GoNorth stage. Come and join us if you can!
Inverness, Wickerman, vegans.
24th June 2011
Hey there!
We played the GoNorth festival in Inverness in the Market bar recently, and it was well good! Thanks to everyone who stayed, watched, and clapped at the end of songs, it was a very fun evening indeed.
We recorded a song, Shake it Up, in the NetSounds Unsigned Rockhopper studio (a weird silver bullet of a caravan with a recording studio in it), and that can be found here: http://soundcloud.com/gonorth2011/sets/netsounds-unsigned-the-gonorth
We have a couple of gigs coming up that are also very exciting: The Heavenly Cafe opening in Glasgow, and the Wickerman Festival!
On July 21st you can catch us doing an acoustic set at the new Heavenly Cafe on Hope Street in Glasgow, a new vegan cafe/bar in the city centre. Entry is free, so make it down if you can for some nice sounds, nice food, and nice beer.
That weekend (22nd – 23rd July) We are also playing the Wickerman festival! We are playing the GoNorth Festival Tour stage, with the time and day still to be confirmed.
Ross!
